A method, and the tools that make it work, to connect sales forecasts, budgets and cash flow into a single process — and leave it in the hands of the people who will continue to run it within the company.

A method designed for management, sales and finance teams.

F2C addresses the needs of those who make decisions, those who generate business and those who manage the financial figures.

Sales forecasts, budgets and cash flow often remain disconnected.

In many SMEs, the budget is prepared once a year and, after a few months, may no longer reflect actual business performance. From that point onwards, decisions risk being based on bank balances and overdue payments — in other words, on what is visible today.

The sales pipeline may be tracked in a salesperson’s spreadsheet, costs in the ERP system, and cash flow forecasts may rely on the experience of whoever manages supplier payments.

Taken individually, they offer little insight into what will happen eight months from now.

One integrated process, from sales forecasting to cash flow.

F2C connects sales forecasts, budgets and cash flow into a single forecasting system, tailored to how the company sells, incurs costs and receives payments.

With F2C: one integrated process, a 24-month forecasting horizon, and a designated person responsible for each stage.

A forecasting system built
around the way your business operates.

The F2C methodology is standardised, while the tools are tailored to each business.
F2C starts with how a company sells, what it sells and how it collects payments, building a forecasting system around the way it operates.

A CRM is designed around a general sales model, which may not reflect the way your business operates.

Straightforward sales pipelines, one-off deals and a single closing date do not capture how every business works. Recurring orders, phased projects, sales through partners or combinations of products and services often end up being managed in separate spreadsheets.

F2C starts instead with how you sell, what you sell and how you collect payments.

Short-term cash management shows whether the business can meet its obligations at the end of the month.

Assessing whether to take on an order, whether credit facilities will be sufficient during seasonal fluctuations, or whether an investment is financially sustainable requires a longer-term view: F2C extends the forecasting horizon to 24 months and keeps it up to date without having to rebuild the forecast each time.

An estimated 3–4 months to complete the process.

A tool that keeps running after I leave.

F2C leaves the company with a forecasting system tailored to its business, along with the rules and tools needed to continue using it.

A forecast that can be run again.

A 24-month cash flow forecast, rather than a model that needs to be rebuilt every cycle. Budgets and actual results are linked, with monthly variances clearly visible for revenue, margins and cash flow.

Rules agreed with the Sales team.

A sales forecasting process developed together with the Sales team, with rules that make it realistic and reliable. A designated person responsible for each spreadsheet, and uncertainty clearly identified: measured, estimated or based on established practice.

Even missing information remains visible.

A permanent record of missing information: the tool makes its gaps explicit rather than hiding them within an overall figure.

The tool becomes yours.

An operating guide for each spreadsheet, training and handover to the business owner. No software to purchase, no subscription fees, no vendor lock-in: by the end, the company owns the tool and knows how to use it.

Tailored spreadsheets, fed by the ERP system.

The methodology remains the same; the tool is built around each company's cash flow process, which is rarely standard in an SME.
Adapting the tool to the business is a one-off cost; adapting the business to the tool is an ongoing expense.

Real data, no lock-in.

Spreadsheets fed directly from the ERP system, not updated manually. A single source for each piece of information, with one-way data flows.

No subscription fees, no vendor lock-in: by the end of the engagement, the company owns the tool and knows how to use it.

The first few weeks determine the outcome.

The first few weeks are dedicated to listening and verifying information at every level of the organisation. This is what determines whether everything that follows will work. Shortening this phase is possible, but the result would be closer to a spreadsheet than a complete system.

From the first interview to a system the company can run independently: three to four months.

Forty years of business leadership,
starting in sales.

Forty years of business leadership — and before that, sales: building a sales channel from scratch to $400 million at Cisco, leading sales operations at Siemens, and taking responsibility for revenue and margins as General Manager. That is why I develop sales forecasts alongside the sales team, rather than simply asking them for figures: someone who has worked in sales knows how a forecast figure is arrived at, and which questions to ask to make it reliable. Alongside F2C, I take on interim general management and operational leadership roles, as well as board appointments. Smeconsu is the consultancy I work through, based in Lugano since 2020. The tagline beneath the logo — ease enterprise life — has been there for years and means just one thing: making life easier for small and medium-sized businesses.

The first step is a one-hour conversation.

In an hour-long phone call, we can determine together whether F2C is the right fit for your company; if it isn’t, I will tell you so, quite frankly.
